Evs (PRT) Vacancy in Beleghata, Kolkata, West Bengal
Narayana School Barasat
Evs
Full Time
Job Description
PRT Evs Teacher Job in Kolkata, West Bengal | School Recruitment
What It Is Like Here
Narayana School Barasat in Beleghata sits on a compact campus where teachers meet at the staff room over steaming cups of morning tea before the first bell. The Evs department feels like a small family—everyone pitches in for the annual clean-up drive along the EM Bypass stretch, and the science corner in the staff area is always stocked with discarded bottles turned into mini-greenhouses. Kolkata’s humidity makes the pre-monsoon planning meetings a bit sticky, but the shared enthusiasm keeps the energy high.
About This Role
This PRT Evs Teacher vacancy in Kolkata is for a full-time position at Narayana School Barasat. The role is designed for someone who can simplify environmental studies so that Class 3 to 5 students grasp concepts through stories about local ponds and traffic noise. Previous teaching experience in the same age group is essential—your classroom stories should be as vivid as the Beleghata market around the corner.
What You Will Do
Plan weekly Evs projects that connect textbook chapters to the lanes of Beleghata—think mapping the neighborhood’s garbage collection routes with students.
Design low-cost teaching aids from scrap materials so children understand reuse long before they hear the word “recycle.”
Conduct outdoor sessions in the small garden behind Block C, even when the Kolkata sun is relentless, to observe soil and plant growth firsthand.
Organize monthly cleanliness drives around the school boundary to link classroom learning with civic action.
Prepare monthly activity calendars aligned with the Evs syllabus and share them with parents via WhatsApp groups.
Assess students through simple quizzes, drawings, and group presentations rather than formal tests.
Collaborate with the art teacher to create murals on waste segregation near the canteen area.
Attend departmental meetings every Thursday after school to review student progress and adjust lesson plans.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduation in any discipline with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed from a recognized institution.
Minimum three years of teaching experience in primary classes, preferably in Evs or general science.
TET/CTET certification is not mandatory but will be considered an advantage.
Familiarity with the West Bengal primary curriculum and local environmental contexts is helpful.
Perks and Pay
The school offers a salary between Rs.17,000 and Rs.30,000 per month based on experience and qualifications.
In-house professional development sessions are conducted every alternate Saturday.
Free access to the school library and resource center for lesson planning.
Health check-ups are organized annually for all teaching staff.
Local travel reimbursement for school-related visits within Kolkata.
