PRT English Teacher Position at Springfield Academy, Serampore
Springfield Academy in Serampur Uttarpara, Hooghly, seeks a dedicated PRT English Teacher to join their vibrant school community. This full-time role focuses on delivering engaging English language instruction to primary-grade students while fostering a love for literature and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
1. Teach English language and literature to students in grades 1 to 5, covering grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and creative writing.
2. Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the West Bengal curriculum, ensuring interactive and engaging teaching methods.
3. Assess student progress through continuous evaluation, provide constructive feedback, and maintain detailed records of academic performance.
4. Collaborate with other teachers to design interdisciplinary projects that integrate English with other subjects like science, social studies, and arts.
5. Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages participation and critical thinking.
6. Organize extracurricular activities such as storytelling sessions, poetry recitals, and language clubs to enhance students’ linguistic skills.
7. Attend regular staff meetings, professional development workshops, and participate in school events to stay updated on teaching best practices.
8. Ensure compliance with school policies, maintain discipline, and work closely with parents to support student growth.
The role requires a graduate with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) degree. A strong foundation in English language proficiency and teaching experience in primary education is essential. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of Rs.13,000 to Rs.25,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
