PRT Social Science Teacher Position at Mount Zion Academy in Darjeeling
Mount Zion Academy in Kalimpong is seeking a dedicated PRT (Practical Teacher) to teach Social Science in its Pulbazar campus in Darjeeling. The role involves engaging students with age-appropriate curriculum while fostering critical thinking and civic awareness. The PRT will be responsible for:
1. Planning and delivering engaging Social Science lessons aligned with the West Bengal curriculum.
2. Assessing students’ understanding through practical exams, projects, and continuous evaluation.

4. Collaborating with the subject coordinator to refine teaching methods and lesson plans.
5. Preparing students for competitive exams like CTET or state-level assessments.

8. Participating in school events that promote social and cultural understanding.
To qualify, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. A TET/CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory. Two years of teaching experience, preferably in Social Science or a related field, is essential. The successful candidate will receive a monthly salary of Rs.15,000 to Rs.22,000, based on performance and qualifications. The position is full-time and based in Darjeeling Pulbazar.
