Mount Zion Academy in Kalimpong is hiring a full‑time Primary Teacher (PRT) to teach Bengali to students in Darjeeling Pulbazar, Darjeeling. The role involves classroom instruction, lesson planning and participation in school activities.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Bengali lessons for primary classes, following the prescribed curriculum and state guidelines.
Assess student progress through classwork, homework and periodic tests, providing feedback to students and parents.
Maintain classroom discipline, create a supportive learning environment and encourage participation.
Prepare teaching aids, worksheets and visual materials to enhance understanding of language concepts.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development programmes and school events as required.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and other administrative duties related to the Bengali department.
Qualification and Experience
Graduate degree in any discipline with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification.
Minimum two years of teaching experience at the primary level, preferably in Bengali.
CTET/TET not mandatory but considered an advantage.
Compensation and Location
Salary: Rs.15,000 – Rs.22,000 per month.
Location: Darjeeling Pulbazar, Darjeeling, West Bengal.
