PGT Fine Arts Teacher Job in Kolkata, West Bengal | School Recruitment
The reality of this role
At The Crescent School Kolkata you will spend most of the day in the art studio guiding classes of 10‑12 students through drawing, painting and craft projects. Lessons run from 9 am to 2 pm with occasional after‑school workshops for cultural events. You will prepare materials, assess student work and collaborate with the Humanities department for interdisciplinary activities. The environment is lively, with frequent school exhibitions on Circus Avenue.
What you will actually do
- Design and deliver the Fine Arts curriculum for classes IX to XII as per Board guidelines.
- Conduct practical sessions in drawing, water‑colour, acrylics and mixed media.
- Organize weekly critiques to develop students’ visual thinking and expression.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets and visual aids tailored to diverse learning styles.
- Evaluate assignments, maintain grade books and provide constructive feedback.
- Supervise art clubs and lead the school’s participation in local art fairs.
- Coordinate with senior teachers for integrated projects such as history of Indian art.
- Ensure safety and proper maintenance of studio equipment and supplies.
Who can do this job
- Post‑graduate degree in Fine Arts or related discipline.
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory.
- Minimum four years of teaching experience at the PGT level in a school setting.
- TET/CTET qualification is preferred.
