About This Role
The Hostel Warden will oversee daily operations of the boarding facilities at Vikas Defence School, ensuring a safe and disciplined environment for students. This full‑time role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to student welfare. The Warden will coordinate with school administration and staff to maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and accommodation.
Day-to-Day Duties
1. Supervise and schedule all hostel staff, ensuring adequate coverage for night shifts.
2. Monitor student attendance, conduct roll calls, and report any absences to school authorities.
3. Maintain cleanliness and order in dormitories, mess areas, and common spaces.
4. Enforce hostel rules, conduct disciplinary actions when necessary, and maintain a log of incidents.
5. Coordinate meal planning with the kitchen team, ensuring balanced nutrition and dietary restrictions.
6. Manage inventory of supplies, report shortages, and place orders with vendors.
7. Handle emergencies, including medical incidents, fire drills, and security breaches.
8. Prepare monthly reports on hostel occupancy, maintenance, and student conduct for the principal.
Required Qualifications
Graduate degree with B.Ed or D.El.Ed required for administrative positions; TET/CTET preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer skills essential for record keeping and reporting. Strong communication skills in Hindi and English.
Preferred Skills
Experience in hostel management or student accommodation is highly valued. Ability to manage conflict, resolve issues calmly, and maintain confidentiality. Familiarity with health and safety regulations for school hostels. Leadership experience and a proactive approach to problem solving.
